INDOMANIA POTTERY TOUR ... part III

You may just think I am crazy for all of the photos I'm about to share with you.  Apologies in advance, but this may just be one of the most favorite things I've done so far in India!  The tour was amazing and the photo opportunities immense, and the people I was surrounded by, just wonderful.

There are still two posts to come, as a result of this tour ... so be patient!

These ladies are gathering the dirt that is used to make the clay ... used for the pottery.  I failed to get a photo of it, but the entire village is ladled with various depositories of dirt piles.

Ingenious heating/cooling system!  There are not very many of these homes left in the village, but they are said to provide fantastic insulation, not to mention a great way to recycle!

Part of the process of mixing the clay.

A tradesman, hard at work.

One of MANY massive and impressive kilns.

This little sweetheart was so shy, but so fascinated by my camera.  I showed her several times how to take a photo, and she just giggled and giggled.

See the itty bitty minatiure pot in Ann's hand?  Darling!
