Blogging @ Fusion Wedding Fayre / Wedding Trends

I'll be off to blog at Poundon House, (a rather lush private country house) this Bank Holiday Monday, where Wedding and Event Planners, Amore, will be hosting a Fusion Wedding Fayre.

Poundon House

I'm looking forward to meeting new and exciting vendors, with having visited a couple of stately country homes last year, the ideas of having your wedding in one, is something you should really consider.

So with wedding planners hosting the event who better to ask about weddings and some of the hot trends right now, than Arti of Amore Weddings and Events, here's what she had to say -

Colour Trends: This year couple are going for more subtle pastel colours or white with one bold colour. The Country Garden Theme is the leading trend of this year, this consists of pastel pink, purple and white colours. This look works particularly well in Marquees where the canvas is blank and colours stand out on the cream backdrop. Indian Weddings are very colourful and exotic, it is very important to limit the colours so the scheme doesn’t start to look tasteless. Arabic & Rajasthani themes are becoming increasingly popular, these can be created using low Moroccan seating, vibrant raw silk coloured cushions, lanterns, votives, brightly coloured linen and colored up lighting to really set the tone.

Indian Weddings are not only a costly affair it is also very emotional and stressful time for the family. When couples come to us they have usually have an idea of what they are always looking for, this mostly consists of something different and unique. We find that there is a lot more variety now than there was 10 years ago. In the past, weddings were most likely to take place in town halls or hotels, now they are spoilt for choice and can have their wedding in Museums, Palaces, Castles and Zoo’s. With a lot more options available, couples/families expectations have increased dramatically.

You can attend the fusion fayre at
Poundon House on Bank holiday Monday May 30th 2011, for more info see here

Fashion Faceoff

Looks like the dress code for DNA Style Awards, was black becoz majority of the celebrities turned up in black outifts with varying hemlines.

Left: Sonam Kapoor
Right: Lisa Haydon

First, we have is Sonam Kapoor - I like the origami pleats of this dress and the contrast of white but the booties - they have to go!!! It completely spoils the look. This will not do, Sonam, you are a known fashionista and we expect perfection from you every time...Next is Lisa in a spagetti strapped, bodycon dress paired with the perfect two-toned shoes. She completely rocks this dress!!

Left: Sophie Choudhry
Right: Sushmita Sen

Sophie and Sushmita go for short black dress - nice legs, ladies. Sushmita looks elegant but me no likey her shoes.

Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika wore a floor length gown with beaded halter neck - which emphasizes her curves as usual. If you have it, flaunt it, right Malaika:-) Totally dig her makeup!!

Who rocks at the DNA awards?
Sonam
Lisa
Sophie
Sushmita
