Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2011 - Ashima - Leena

I am completely smitten by the aqua blue color (first row) that the designers has used. Its so perfect for Summer/Spring, no? Reminds me of Prabal Gurung S/S11.

Ashima-Leena's collection was a journey “back to the roots” and was inspired by "tribes from all over the world, mostly central Asia,” said Ashima. I don't see any "tribal influence" other than the head gear/beads which looks so forced, silly and out of place! An okay collection with nothing (besides the aqua blue color) to make my heart race.

Who do I see wearing this collection? I would love to see all celebs sporting this hairstyle:P

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2011 - Kavita Bhartia

Kavita presented a collection consisted mainly of flowy dresses, short skirts, tunics and token sarees. Inspired by tribal influences, it showcased antique embroidery and Indian textiles. There was a lot of tie n dye prints which surprised since tie n dye isn't a very hot trend this year. Some of the dresses had a very vintage-y feel. All in all, a great collection in a dark, earthy color palette.

Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2011 - Tarun Tahiliani

Yup, another fashion week!
Anyways, its Tarun and I heart Tarun Tahiliani! Classy, elegant collection in dark winter colors with exquisite embroidery, simple and clean lines and tassels. Looks like dhoti pants are going to be big this year - we saw them a lot in the Lakme Fashion week too!
