Lady in Red

About a month ago, I ventured out for a morning function whereby we all were to learn how to choose, purchase and wrap a sari.

In true Delhi-style ... there are way more people standing around than there are jobs "to do."

We learned about the various types of fabrics (chiffon, crepe, cotton, and so on) and what we should wear to what types of events.  We learned where to tuck and where to pin.  Then finally, we tried on.

(Do you see ALL of those options/choices behind me? It was virtually impossible to make a decision. I finally let my choice be made based on price)

Fast forward to this weekend, when the kids' school had their annual fundraising dinner - whereby most folks dress in traditional Indian garb.  Thank goodness for Shanti, because the YouTube video just DIDN'T work for me!

After some sweating, re-arranging of the fabric, a couple of pre-event drinks, and getting the little settled in .... we were OFF for a Night Under the Stars!
