Pigpo ... he stocks bacon (which is equivalent to the bacon I used to only splurge on - thick, smoked, delicious), pork chops (although often teensy pathetic excuses for pork chops), sliced ham, smoked sausage, etc.
Chemist ... you can get ANYTHING here (medicine, crutches, shampoo, powders, etc.). Sometimes the 'lost in translation' effect is difficult to overcome, but with some pointing to the area that is currently "paining" you, one typically ends up with what you need. They also deliver!
Bank ... choose between two ATMs. Money withdrawals are easier in this neighborhood than in our last one! Back at home, we had to drive to the ATM ... nice to be able to WALK!
Altitude Store ... it is our newfound favorite store. They send an email with an order form, I fill it, send it back and we get weekly deliveries of fresh fruit and veggies, eggs and the best smelling lotion around. They also stock a great mosquito repellant balm that seems to work on the kids ... if I'd only remember to put it ON them.
The Merry Store ... delightful guys run this store and it is fun to be able to call them randomly to have them deliver a special order of gatorade, oreos, cranberry juice or "white ice cream." Truly, service with a smile, there is never a problem if we're running low on cash and need to run a tab, as the owner always smiles and says "you are my friends ... money is never an issue."

Dominos ... at any point in the day, you can see hoards of the delivery guys standing around near their delivery motorcycles, waiting for someone wanting a hot pizza. We LOVE their pepperoni pizza!
Although not actually IN our neighborhood, but a 5 minute drive, the local "liquor store", perfect for beer, wine, and liquor.
Cafe Coffee Day ... This is no Starbucks, but it works for the occasional coffee with irish cream, and is a great spot for people watching. Often on weekend evenings, there is also live music.
Will someone more knowledgeable than me please clarify this ... is this guy ready to make fresh lime sodas?
