Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2011 - Shantanu & Nikhil

Aimed at the cocktail, evening wear chic buyer, the “S&N Drape” Divonics collection presented by Shantan and Nikhil, was a blend of Indian vintage designs cleverly merged with contemporary sophisticated silhouettes. Consisting of mainly western wear, the collection consisted of skirts, shorts, bodycon dress, bodysuits and gowns.The colors were mainly greys and browns with some orange thrown in.

Gorgeous draping with very sophisticated and stylish pieces. A great collection.

Shahzahn wore a net dress by Sonya Vajifdar(twitter) at the launch of the designer's rainwear. She accessorized with a cute gold clutch/necklace and red pumps. I am not able to make up my mind about this outfit. I think the gold and red are clashing. She should have either gone with gold accessories and black pumps or kept the red shoes but ditched the golden stuff and taken a black clutch..What do you guys think?

Shilpa wore a glamorous lehenga at the Zara Nach ke Dikha finale ( Bollywood version of So you can dance). The outfit is by Shantanu and Nikhil (ID by Pinkvilla) - love her velvet top..Why did she have to dump the whole bottle of red vermillion (sindhoor) on her forehead is beyond me. We get it u are happily married!!

Last week all of us where drooling over the green dress that Freida Pinto wore to the The Last Airbender premiere. We don't have to be Frieda to rock the green shade. I am completely bowled over by this green dress and how beautifully the guest has styled it with a green/red bib necklace and a multi-toned clutch..I am not comparing this dress with the Oscar De la Renta's dress that Freida wore ( I wouldnt dare!!) but just showing how to wear green without looking like The Green Hornet:-)

Wills India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 - Shantanu and Nikhil

Shantanu and Nikhil presented a Summer/Resort collection at LFW 2010 and just a month later did an Autumn/Winter collection at WIWF, 2010. Both the collection are poles apart and I am blown away by their creativity, versatility and hard work. The Autumn/Winter 2010 collection was inspired by iconic heroines of Woody Allen's films from the early forties and fifties. It was in three parts. Act One was mainly monochromatic outfits, Act Two introduced a hint of scarlet color and Act Three went all out with sensuous red outfits. I loved some outfits but the ruffles on many of the dresses were out of proportion and I was not not very impressed with the draping/finish of some outfits..
