EARRINGS, EARRINGS, EARRINGS

Before I moved to India, I wore jewelry maybe ONCE a month for date night.

I had maybe 10 pairs of earrings and a couple of necklaces ... and maybe four bracelets?

Then I moved.

I found myself deposited in the land of color and beauty and funkiness.

I now am the proud owner of very reasonably priced jewelry ... and when I say reasonably priced, I mean WAY reasonable. Amazing rings of all shapes and colors for an average of $5.00 a piece. Really cool earrings for $1.00. Necklaces that make an outfit pop for $3.00.

The problem became though - as I started to accumulate bling - that I had nowhere to put all of it. Too much time was spent in the precious morning minutes searching for that ONE pair of earrings.

Enter Amanda's Shabby Chic Earring Display -

HOW CUTE IS THAT??

So Pam and I set out to recreate this funky and fun little craft and make ourselves some earring display/organizer thing-a-ma-jigs.

First step (well, at least when you live in India) is to clean the frames and wire.

Next step is to hammer the nails ... take care to not pound in your thumb nail.

We used these itty bitty little picture hanging nails.

We experimented with how to wrap the wire, and found that wrapping it from top to bottom in a S formation was the easiest/simplest.  It meant that we only had to twist the wire around two nails vs. twice for each row.

Finished product is not quite as refreshingly amazing as Amanda's, but we are pretty pleased with it!   It would help if I FOCUSED my shots before clicking the shutter :)
