Stripes are another big trend this year and this Tommy nautical stripes dress is really cute. Raveena accessorized with a skinny belt and white shoes at the launch of Tommy Hilfiger's new store.

Blue Reign

Where: At the semi-final screening at Shahrukh's Mannat

Both, Karisma and Raveena, wore blue to support the Indian Cricket team at the Cricket World cup semi-finals. Karisma went the comfy route with velour jumpsuit and a drool-worthy blue Birkin. Raveena was polished in a silk shirt with jeans. I think they both look lovely. If India had lost, I am sure I would have said something else;-)

Amrita's dress is cute but I think its a wee bit long. Rani's dress is trendy but she has styled it pretty badly. Silver jewelry would have worked better than pearls and the hairstyle is just very un-sophisticated!

You really cant go wrong with blue and white skinny jeans, can you? Well, they both did with bad footwear. Ankle up, yay. Shoes, nay!

Lara wore a daring, plunging gown to the magazine launch. She paired the bright gown with silver accessories. Lara sure does rock that gorgeous color! What do you think too BOOB-tastic or just plain fantastic?

I love the blue here! Paired with white, Raveena is a cool summer drink! The beauty of this whole outfit is her long-sleeved top which goes so well with the simple, sheer saree.

Mahie is a caped crusader in her black outfit. She will kill you with those pointy heels if you dont watch her movie!!

Mona on the other hand is all demure in her beautiful red/gold outfit. Paired with gold peep-toes, she looks bright and pretty.

What is there not to love!!? That is one stunning saree! The equally gorgeous top/blouse emphasizes her dainty clavicle bones and Shilpa looks very delicate and sophisticated here. A total slam dunk!

Whats there to love? Aishwarya dress is blah and Rani's dress is just tacky - Forever 21 meets Dollar store!!

How does Karisma do it - she is impossible chic all the times! Never into fashion fads, Karisma sticks to classy silhouttes in subtle colors with perfectly matched accessories. She is one of the few people who get get away with matchy-match stuff.

The first time I saw the pic, I liked Sonali's saree but the more I looked, the more I found it frumpy. She fares better in the multi-colored outfit and I love the color of her shoes.

The colors of Raveena's saree are pretty but the design/style combined with her hairstyle ages her by 20 years. She recovers very nicely with her outfit for the reception. Striking green color that plays well with the gold design, lovely halter neck top and exquisite necklace!

The crushed red velvet outfit is not that bad but the golden saree is the one that caught my eye . Teaming it with a golden-yellow clutch was a smart move. No to Amrita's Goldilocks hairstyle!

That red stops you in your track, doesn't it? Since the color is so eye-searing, I think the designer did a good think by keeping the saree simple - no superfluous embroidery - and letting the color be the star. The necklace is perfect with the saree. If Laila soared at the wedding, then she stumbled at the reception in that cheapy color combo.

If you took the saree that Katrina wore for the Apsara awards, 2011 and dyed it blue, this is what you will get. Aishwarya in a net/velvet Manish Malhotra(who else?) saree. Similar hairstyle as Katrina and similar kundan earrings. Not only are we sharing designers but also hairstylists and jewelers. What love!!

I like the dress on her, she looks good. Love her eye makeup but not her lip-color.

There is no way to sugarcoat this so I am just going to say this - I love, love Urmila's outfit!! The sequins dhoti pants just rocks!! And it is beautifully complimented by the gently shading top. The outfit is in perfect proportion to her body. Never knew Urmila had this outfit in her.
Surily wore a pale white batwing dress and paired it with peach colored accessories. I find this shade of white to be very chic and polished and in general have a weakness for one-shoulder dresses.

A decent look from Shilpa after a lo-o-ng time. Looks like her stylist is back from Christmas break:P The draping and soft colors give the outfit a very feminine look which goes well with Shilpa's girly image. Thankfully, she did not accessorize.

Prachi's outfits of the day are very evocative. The first one reminds me of sea-lion and the second one looks like something that used to hang over the couch at my grandmother’s house. In fact, I am going to call my granny to make sure its still there:P

Both the outfits made my day. Anushka does spoil it a little by her choice of accessories. Shraddha is a picture of prettiness.

Animal prints gone wrong. Sameera wore a leopard print with velvet(??) pants whereas Raveena did a tiger print with satin pants. On second thoughts, Sameera is not that bad - she looks very pulled together and the red lips help. On the other hand, Raveena is beyond fashion redemption.

Malaika did the mini + blazer combo pairing a gold BCBG(??) dress with a black blazer and nude Loubs. Two things (i) Having never looked beyond her always-on-display-legs, I didn't realize she is quite pretty (ii) not sure I like black with this shade of gold..Shoes, I will take anyday.

Urmila wore a cute, printed one-shoulder dress to the store opening. Love the dress and the shoes make the orange in the dress pop out. Orange clutch - an overkill..
Looks like her hair stylist had a day off.

Raveena - So many things messed up here. The waistband is too wide of her size, the dress too long and the shoes just plain wrong. BV clutch - always right.

Tisca - Love her Tod's Bauletto satchel and her perfectly polished look.

Gul - Too blinded by her red shoes to look at anything else..

Ooh la la, That is a great look on Mugdha! She is uber-fancy in a cream gown with sheer overlay skirt. The gold embellishment at the neck is a nice touch and I love the way the skirt flows. You like?

Jacqueline - Lets just admire her shoes and move on..I mean, seriously how high has she worn her shorts? The look - Baboon or Buffoon ?

Mandira - Cant think of one nice thing to say:P
Wait a sec, Isnt the hand the symbol of one on the major political party (Congress-I)?? If I were the leader of that party, I would be really worried..

Who: Bhavna Pandey, Nandita Mahtani

Its very difficult to choose between the two gowns since both are in such gorgeous colors. Love the feminine draping and soft fluidity of both the outfits..
I wish Nandita had gone for an updo to highlight her halter neckline.

Again, beautiful outfits in attention-catching colors. Love Raveena's gown that teams a classic silhouette with such a in-your-face color.
The teal-colored dress fits the guest like a glove and she truly does justice to that outfit.

Who: Shamita Shetty, Guest

I would wear Shamita's dress in a heartbeat but not to such a formal red-carpet event. Its fun and flirty - perfect for a more causal event.
The guest caught my eye becoz she reminded me of Indian Rajasthani puppet. She looks very graceful in what looks like a Sabyasachi.

Raveena at Tommy Hilfiger Childrens Store launch

Tommy Hilfiger India recently launched their Childrenswear Stores with a lavish event at the Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Raveena Tandon was at the event with her son Ranbirvardhan.
Raveena is in Tommy Hilfiger dress and nude cutout shoes. I like the double breasted dress and have to say, this is one of the better appearances by Raveena. She looks chic and polished...

HDIL couture week - Day two

Queenie Dhody and Raj Mahatani also showcased their jewelery designs on day two of HDIL .

Malaika Arora Khan was the showstopper for Queenie. The jewelery is pretty - just not my style.

Raveena Tandon was the showstopper for Raj Mahatani. Love her necklace - its so grand and OTT !! And cant believe she wore those clunky shoes on the ramp!!

Varun Bahl and Karan Johar presented their men's collection and in a major coup got Amitabh, Hrithik and Shahrukh to walk for them!! They look so delicious:-) Looks like the three broke out into a jig at the end..

Who: Twinkle Khanna

Twinkle makes few appearance but when she does, she sure does make us sit up. She wore a bright flowery pattern dress that isn't too frenetic and shows off her stems:-) She smartly balanced the hyper-hued combo with nude shoes and and a simple structured bag with metallic detail. The overall effect is fresh without being over the top girly.

Who: Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika picked a classic, black, tailored, dress short to wear to the event. She spruced up the look with purple bag, jewelry and, of course, plenty of leg. I like how she chose to tuck in her striped top, as it prevents the look from being too casual..Not sure why she picked those nudish-pink wedges??

It just so happens that I came across the same combination (black bottoms + striped top) styled differently by two fashion bloggers. See here and here for style inspirations.

Who: Mugdha Godse

One step forward, two step backward - thats how Mugdha and Fashion go. Waist up Mugdha looks cute and adorable - I give her points for that. But those tapered legs are just nutso!! And if that much ugliness was not enough, she added pink shoes.

Day and Night

Between Raveena's two appearances today, I like her in kurti with jeans. The black-on-black ensemble is a little boring. Never been a fan of her dressing style but always found her very beautiful.

When I look at Raveena, I will always remember how she stole Karishma's thunder in the "Sheher Ki ladki (City Girl)" song. Karishma was the star of the movie (Rakshak) but Raveena's special appearance song was a big, big hit.. and I think the highlight of the movie:-0.. Here is the song. Noticed that around 2:25, Raveena wears a wig similar to what Hale Berry wears on Vogue Sept cover and around 4:02, she sports a head scarf style that Olsens twins have been seen in!!

Looks like the embellished/bib neckline is going strong in bollywood. Nice tops and lovely smiles.. Here are some similar ones I found.

The left top is a wee bit expensive at $295 from Saks. The right one is equally pretty and at one-third the price from bebe is a bargain:-)


These two tops are in my price range - I still a looong way from making my first million:p The black one, on the right is from Forever21 ($19.98). The left one is on sale for only $21 from GoJane. Let me know which ones worked out for you.

Katrina wore a bright pink Preen column dress for a press conference. The original is available at Net-a-Porter for $1330, yes, for $1330:-) and its only a press conference!! The poor girl's version is at $148 from Nordstorm. Its the right one below....Hey, this is best I could find!!

Yummy mummy:-) What I like about the dress is its rich deep color, delicate flowers and the narrow golden ribbon at the hem. This dress would have been a hit if it didn't have the additional jacket like embroidery on the top. What do you guys think?
