Love the nude-pink color but not sure about the dress. This needs a better fitting at the waist, no? I dont see any curves..I am also not a big fan of pockets on evening gowns (Jeans? yes pockets. Gowns with pockets? Never good) and I think this outfit would have looked better if it was knee length.

Who: Aishwarya Rai
Where: Cosmopolitan awards, Lavasa Womens' car rally awards

The first outfit could have worked if the top and bottom were of the same shade - did Aishwarya dress in the dark?!
She fares much better in the second outfit - its soft, chic and so luxe looking!

Who: Malaika Arora Khan
Where: Cosmopolitan awards 2011, Jhalak, Dikhla Ja sets

Girlfriend kills in both outfits! The first is a typical Malaika - short and tight with a "painted on" effect. The second may have room to breathe but makes it up with sensuous draping. Isn't the color gorgeous? With Malaika, if an outfit doesn't scream "sex", its not worth wearing:-)

Dia in a cutesy, diaphanous LBD teamed with gold accessories. Love the overall look but didn't quite like her necklace on close-up. Its soo last season - Looks like Santa skipped someone's house:-)

The birthday girl also wore a LBD and she topped it off with a dazzling emerald earrings. This pairing reminds me of Angelina @ Oscars 2009.

Between the two LBDs, I liked Farah's better since I am not a big fan of co-ordinating one's accessories..

Is this how we are wearing sari's nowdays?The sari is gorgeous and I like the gold top/blouse with the contrasting pattern but its going to take me sometime to get used to this way of draping. And the necklace is just too much - Queenie with more bling than a Xmas tree.

Wow, I really thought we will have world peace wa-a-y before Amisha *cough* cover *cough* cleans ups her act. Whoever fixed this needs to report to the UN peacekeeping force ASAP!!

Weekend Round - The beautiful and the bewildering

Who: Rani Mukerjee
Where: "No one killed Jessica" song release

Rani paired an Antropologie skirt with a crisp white shirt at the release of a new song from her new movie. I like the outfit and her simple peep-toes but I think she should have skipped the necklace. A case of trying to hard..

Btw, I have seen promos of this movie and it looks awesome. Both, Vidya and Rani, are just mind blowing..

Who: Katrina Kaif
Where: "Tees Mar khan" promos, Zee Rishtay awards

Katrina was also busy promoting her new movie at different events over the weekend. I like the Rocky. S outfit that she wore in the first pic. In the second event, I think she is performing at the awards and that's what she wore on stage- needs to be gaudy and all that..She does look really toned and fit!!

Where: "Bread ke baad" promos

Looks like everyone is working hard in bollywood! Anushka was at an real wedding to promote her new movie. Phew, so many new movies coming out -hard to keep track:-)
Anushka wore a pale cream sari with black floral velvet embellishments and a black velvet blouse. She is looking gorgeous and although I love, love her nude makeup I think bright red lip color would have been better here..

Here is Mallika doing what she does best - preening like a Peacock. This pose is a double whammy that combines preening and a flash of bare shoulders...When you got it, Flaunt it!!

I am totally digging Lilette's stunning orange colored sari. She teamed it with a big cuff and yellow-orange clutch. Ira, hon, you need to take style tips from ur mom - Mom always knows best!!
Queeni wore a blue shaded sari but have to say it looks pale in comparison to the fiery warm orange.

Soniya went for a monochromatic look with a black top and black/white printed skirt. She added some color with a blue Balenciaga bag and toned down the girliness with some fierce shoes. I like.

Where: "Khelein hum jee jaan se" premiere in Kolkata

Aishwarya and Abhishek donned traditional Bengali outfits for the movie premiere in Kolkata. Thank god, Aishwarya tied her orange hair. What a difference it makes!! They both look simple, cute yet elegant.

Shilpa wore a nude CD gown which was earlier worn by Sonam for Cosmpolitan shoot(Oct 2010). I love the cutouts near the hemline but don't quite like the top frilly part. What do you guys think?

Both, Genelia and Nastsha, wore gorgeously chic outfits but were undone by their hairstyles. Genelia's hair looks very messy and not sure why Natasha stuck a bird nest on top of her pretty head..Lastest fashion accessory?

Soniya - Where do I even start? Tacky, ill-fitting dress, ugly shoes and unkempt hair...

I have only one word for Queenie's outfit - Love!!Yes, I do. The skirt of her dress is simply sublime. Wish she had worn nude underthings...

Shahzahn's silver dress is so eye-catching and bling-y that it doesn't require any accessories.

Malaika wore a CD Fall 09 dress to the store opening and wisely lets the gown take center-stage with no accessories.

Celebs at HDIL couture week 2010 - Day one

Who: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam channeled Betty, Peggy and Joan from "Mad Men" going for a 60's ladylike look. She wore a black dress with cap sleeves and a semi-full skirt that hit her below the knees. Pointy pumps, cream handbag and gorgeous ethnic necklace completed the look.

The look is not bad but there is no drama. For that you need the contrast of a well-fitted bodice and a skirt with way more volume. The skirt also should be knee length( not this long)... Do love her red lip color and sleek hair style..

Who: Sameera Reddy

Sameera wore a pant-suit with a very interesting silhouette. The jacket looks like a tux in a wraparound style. The addition of the belt prevents the jacket from overwhelming her frame. I like her outfit but the shoe color is an eyesore...It also looks like her foundation is not the right shade..

Who: Sangeeta Bijlani

Sangeeta wore a fabulous coral colored flapper dress which she topped with loose, tousled hair... This is a major upgrade from her last appearance. The color and the dress style give Sangeeta a very youthful look..

Who: Queenie Dhody

Queenie wore a leopard print dress to the opening party. For Manish's show, she wore a drape-y dress in soft pink and paired it with white clutch and silver shoes. Neither of the looks work for me.

Sophie in a dress that looks great from the back and pretty boring from the front. If I were her, I would walk backwards the whole time:-)

Neck up, Nastasha looks pretty lackluster but do I love her maxi-dress or what?

The guest is a study in restrained elegance in a knockout mustard-yellow dress. She wisely didnt over-accessorize and completed her ensemble with some great shoes.

Are you looking for something formal, in black, to wear? You don't need to look any further. The guests at Queenie Singh's party were gracious enough to model all possible black outfits for us. The fashion parade was lead by the reigning Queen of Black, Ms Sen herself.



Since I am too lazy to name the guests, now is the perfect time to have our first Pop quiz!! yay!! Whoever names all of them correctly, gets a.....

..big hug from me. Yes, I am cheap and no, flipping the finger will not get u a better prize..

Anyways, I am still trying to figure out why they all wore black. Could it be becoz they saw their hostess, Ms Singh and all color drained from their outfits. Here is Queenie wearing Joseph's technicolor dream coat.

What: DVF Peggy Foldover clutch

Tisca wore a simple, elegant dress with beautiful side ruching and draped neck for a jewelry awards ceremony. The dress fits her perfectly, giving her an hourglass figure. The length is a little long for me (maybe she forgot to wax her legs??)...I am totally drooling over her DVF bag and the clutch's color contrast with the cream dress... Lets just ignore her gold cutout shoes..

Lakme fashion week Summer/Resort 2010 - Rocky. S

The Lakme fashion week opened with a bridal collection from Rocky. S and jewellery designed by Queenie for Giantti. The colors varied from pastels to vibrant solid hues like pink, peach, nude and turquoise and then moved to luxurious shaded tones ending with ivory and black. The outfits were embellished with zardozi, sequins, appliques, saworksi crystals. A very wearable collection but nothing that really stands out. Makeup is minimum ; lots of hairpieces..

That's one daring dress that Queenie is wearing. Cut-out dresses flaunt some skin with strategically placed cutouts. Cut-out detailing is bare and edgy in design; sweet but tough at the same time. I remember reading somewhere that a cut-out dress doesn't have to reveal too much as its sexiness is about this unexpected flash of a bare body. You not only need a toned body but some chutzpah to pull off this look. Queenie certainly has both..

Who: Lara Dutta
Where: Queenie for Giantti launch

Looks like Lara is a fan of maxi-dresses as she has been spotted in quite a few of them. I like the print of this dress, her golden clutch and her hot pair of heels. Smart move to keep the accessories to the minimum. Although, Bhupesh on her arm would have been yummy!! They are dating and the filmfare awards was their first public appearance:-)

Another cute maxi-dress. Minimal effort and maximum effect—the maxi-dress is going to be a big trend in summer!!

I am not sure what look she is going for here - rainbow?? tropical bird?? I do spot some feathers in her hand..oops, thats her clutch..And is that a flower on her blouse?? I think she is going for the whole forest:-) If she had gone for a sequins blouse in blue or green, this would have worked..

Who: Neha Dhupia

And on the other hand, we have Neha who went for a complete monochromatic grey look with grey accessories. Lets first just look at the clothes - the architectural skirt, concentric circles of sequins at the neckline and the unfinished effect at the waistline - really nice... But it just doesnt fly - the top is one size big for her, the skirt is sitting too low on her waist and too long -- the hemline should have hit her at the knees. Dont like her hair either - it elongates her face..Never noticed her Jay Leno chin before, hmmmm...

Who: Natasha Poonawalla

I am on the fence on this one. Its a lot of bling, bling for me but she does carry it off by toning down the accessories.. What do you guys think?
