The Royal Wedding - The Dress/Trends/Reception

I wasn't going to, i only wanted to have a quick look, but next thing you know I'm watching the ceremony getting teary eyed and getting way to exciting at the sight of her dress. but hey you know what i realised no matter what you might think a wedding is a beautiful thing!! And these two are all about the LOVE. their just adorable. a true fairy tale wedding!

Now that wedding dress by designer Sarah Burton, who is creative director of Alexander McQueen, some of us may have expected someone more, but Kate stayed true to her style and i loved it! even her dress for her reception a strapless circle-skirted gown which had a sweetheart neckline and glittering crystal-studded band at the waist that, if possible, made the her midriff look even tinier than her earlier dress. again echoing the fifties styling of Grace Kelly.

{Fashion trends} that are sure to be set by Kate Middleton (and Pippa): full-length sleeves, lace, tiaras, drop earrings, white bridesmaid dresses (Queen Victoria was first to start this trend back in 1840). bouquets featuring lily of the valley, and stephanotis, hair half up and down.

Elegant: Pippa Middleton wore a cowl-neck cap-sleeved gown by Alice Temperley for her sister's wedding

The Royals might be getting married, but so am I!!

my daughter attended a pretend royal wedding at her nursery yesterday and had street party! she loved it, and it was so cute seeing all the little one's in their fine wedding attire. made me think, yes we will all be watching the royal wedding, whether we like it or not. (there is no getting away, trafford centre, manchester is showing it on the big screen)

But imagine your getting married and all anyone is taking about is something else, not very nice, so if its your big day today or indeed this weekend, this is for you.

and if anything, lucky you the whole country gets a day off on your big day, not many people can say that :)

I have a stack more fashion week pictures to upload, told you it was endless.. and all the usual gorgeousness that you expect!! and its my big day tomorrow too :) so I'll see you Monday, have another amazing long weekend!!

Magazine Covers - May 2011

Vogue - Katrina Kaif
Stardust - Sonam Kapoor
Grazia - Lara Dutta
Harper's Bazaar - Malaika Arora Khan

Katrina goes sultry and vamp-y for the Vogue cover. Its a nice change from her saccharine, white outfits and this would have been an amazing cover if not for the yellow fonts all over the place. They are so distracting!

Another month, another Sonam cover, sigh! Hate her hairstyle.

I like Grazia's cover - Lara looks fresh in a simple outfit.

Malaika wore a daring, slutty Pucci crochet dress for the cover. Since the dress is such an eyeful and is obviously meant to be the focus of the cover, everything else was kept simple and unfussy - nude makeup, curly hair, white/black fonts and a neutral background. Great cover - very well styled.
Love Malaika's hairstyle - gives her a soft look.

I really love my...

Who: Neha Dhupia

..black studded vest. I think the beauty of the vest is lost on a black outfit. It looks crisp and smart when worn with a white outfit.

Who: Tisca Chopra

.. DVF clutch. Looks like its Tisca's go-to clutch for pale white outfits! Cant blame her - its pretty cute. Since its a neutral shade, it can be worn with any colored outfit - giving you more bang for your buck.

Dubai Fashion Week A/W 11 - Rabia Z

RUNWAY REPORT
Highly sought after designer Rabia Z closed the second day of Dubai Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 her collection aimed at the woman who confidentially flaunts her individuality.
On a quest to find her muse through an online competition on her website, Rabia stumbled upon 25-year-old Ayesha, of Arab and British heritage. The collection is inspired by Ayesha's personal style and personality and the exercise of the competition helped the designer understand and adapt to the needs of her clientele in a more informed manner.
The 'Ayesha's Autumnal Journey’ collection plays with fall colours of ochre, olive, khaki and grey with splashes of other colour worked into the outfits. The outfits in organic cotton, denim, wool and lycra are alternated with her signature use of stretch jersey. Holding true to the label’s philosophy of conservative chic, structured jackets and soft tops were worn over wide trousers. The innovative ‘jacket-abayas’ in chocolate brown were teamed with jeans, displaying their instant wearable quotient.
Sporty tops with zippers and coloured piping were paired with matching shaylas. Loose tops, long silk shirts as well as drape dresses with subtle embellishments and sharp cuts reflected the trendy yet traditional tag of the brand.
The collection featured sunglasses and accessories from the UK brand ACCESSORIZE.
