Dessert Table by Moi @ Asian Wedding Ideas

I did this dessert table a couple of months back, for a baby shower, but kept putting off blogging about it, maybe due to the fact the pictures weren't very good, but I'm going to stop being such a baby and let you see my first attempt.

Amy Atlas who is thee queen bee when it comes to dessert tables, was a true inspiration, I mean have you seen her designs. She makes it look effortless.

I was pretty happy how it looked on the night, and the lady in question loved it, so job done. but there is something I could change it would be the pictures, daylight is key, no wonder photographers want so much light.

Doing this i did learn alot, most thing I made myself, and that was a plus point in itself. We blog so much about DIY projects, that you sometimes wonder, is it really is it even possible to do all this when your getting married? well the cake pops and pom poms where in fact rather easy, so definitely something you could do if you put your mind to it.

Be great to have some feedback, let me know what you think, are you thinking of having a dessert table?

This is something I can see me wanting to do more of in the future, especially with some vibrant colours, and maybe get some vendors involved too. After all got to start planning weddings at some point.

pom poms - way easier than they look

much respect to the bakers, piping is not easy

"Make your own Sundaes" Buffet Concept for a Wedding or Party

You scream I scream we all scream for ice cream, oh and put a sundae in the mix and I'm there, a sundae is my go to when I don't know what to make for dessert. Must be the  mixture of ice cream, toppings, cream and sauce, it's just to die for.

This concept is just made for summer, you could either allow guest to help themselves or you could get someone to serve up,  I love the old-fashioned Ice-cream Parlour style that Amy Moss from eat drink chic has used below, the colour palette is so soft and dreamy!

the cherry on top, the best bit!
Once you have grasped the ideas you could go wild with it. different colours, toppings what ever you like. you can get almost anything you need from the Internet, and major department stores.

Find out how Amy did it, and how you can re-create it here. You'll also get free printable to go with..sweet!

Petit Pois the new cupcake in town!!

At last a way to eat cake, and get your five a day, that sounds like my kinda cake.

Petit Pois Cakes - Lemon & Courgette - Photograher Beatriz Da Costa

Harry Eastwood, star of Channel 4’s ‘Cook Yourself Thin’, together with American entrepreneur Ashley Maddox has launch Petit Pois, a range of mouth-watering cakes made using vegetables instead of butter and some of the sugar.

Using all natural ingredients of the highest quality – free range eggs, 70% cocoa chocolate, real vanilla bean and unwaxed citrus fruit – in four flavours: Vanilla, Chocolate, Lemon and Orange. Each cake has just the thinnest layer of icing and is topped with a cute little green marzipan pea.

You could never guess that Petit Pois cakes are full of pumpkin, courgette or beetroot. Even more so, no-one would know that there’s more grated vegetable in Petit Pois cakes than any other single ingredient.

So how is this possible? It’s the presence of the secret vegetables that also give Petit Pois cakes the extended shelf life – unlike butter that stiffens as it sits, the vegetables continue to moisturise and sweeten the cakes days after being made. Petit Pois are the only cakes on the market that actually improve as they sit on the shelf, and the only range that is completely gluten-free, lactose-free, and blessed with less than half the calories of normal cupcakes.

These Two women on a quest to bring healthy, delicious and fun treats to the cake-lovers of Britain.

Well I'm with you :)

The Royal Wedding - My favorite part after the dress..The CAKE!

two cakes?..a trend that i will be more than happy too see happening everywhere.. what do you think has it hit the mark?

Fiona Cairns, stands next to the wedding cake that she and her team made for Prince William and his wife Kate, Duchess of Cambridge,

confectionery masterpiece covered in cream and white icing and decorated with up to 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers..

The Royal Wedding Cake..Why have one when you can have two

Which is exactly what will be happening this Friday..a new trend? well of course, the bride has her cake and the groom has his own, plus you can never go wrong with more cake.
the main cake is by cake-designer Fiona Cairns, who started her business in the kitchen of her home 25 years ago. Now along with her husband Kishore Patel they operate the business out of a state-of-the-art bakery in Leicestershire and supply cakes to Harrods, Selfridges, John Lewis and Waitrose. (yes you too cake get your hands on one of her cakes.)

Its said that the cake will be delicate, modern but with vintage aspects. the cake will also feature the symbols of the four nations: an English rose, a Scottish thistle, a Welsh daffodil and an Irish shamrock.

The 600 guests at the wedding breakfast will also be treated to William’s childhood favourite, the McVitie’s chocolate biscuit cake. Buckingham Palace has sent the recipe to chefs at McVitie’s, who will make an outsized version including 1,700 biscuits and nearly 40lb of chocolate. ‘It will be decorated with chocolate display work which will be contemporary, modern and elegant.
