Freida Pinto at the "The Last Airbender" premiere

Who: Freida Pinto

Who: Dev Patel and Freida Pinto
Where: "The Last Airbender" premiere

Freida wore a stunning green Oscar De La Renta (Resort 2011) dress to the premiere of M.Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender". Love the folds of this dress and what a fab color!! I cant take my eyes off her:-) She paired the dress with black shoes/clutch and gold earrings...A winner all the way..

Fashion Faceoff

Who: Rani Mukerjee, Kourtney Kardashian
Where: (L)Sabyasachi store opening, (R) TLK Fusion’s New “Kardashian Retail Project” press conference

Now, that's something you dont see everyday. Rani vs Kourtney!! Who would have thought:-) Neck up, there is no contest - Rani looks gorgeous with simple makeup and hairstyle. The olive green jumpsuit looks good with both black as well as brown accessories...But somehow, the length isn't right on Rani and Kourtney could have skipped her blazer. What do u think?

Who wore it better?
Rani Mukherjee
Kourtney Kardashian
Dont make me choose!!
Yuck, neither!!

Bag envy

Who: Sonam Kapoor
Where: IHLS game launch

I have been lusting after this Chloe Paraty bag ever since I saw it in Vogue. Isn't it marvelous?? It doesn't quite flow with her outfit which is pretty smart and trendy. The floral top is from French Connection. I love the belt but not sure why she took my advice and wore Suri Cruise's ballet shoes:-) Black shoes would have been better as right now the shoes and bag are clashing..

You can buy the top here and the bag here.

Event: IHLS Ahmedabad promotions

Who: Sonam Kapoor
Where: Promoting IHLS in Ahmedabad

Aha, I was partially correct - Sonam went for curly/wavy hair for her Ahmedabad promotions. She could have proven me completely correct by doing a Lady Gaga - wearing the stunning silver blazer with a cone bra and skirt made out of real hair:-) Instead, she wore it with boring beige pants and a white shirt, sigh..

If you had the gorgeous silver blazer, how would you style it? My options -- A black pencil skirt + kitten heels would look chic.. So would a black bandage dress as the blazer would tone down the sexiness of the dress... A texture contrast with lemon yellow chiffon dress..

Okay, lets now predict her next appearance. I say she will go bald and will channel Suri Cruise:-)

White is the new black

Who: Tisca Chopra
Where: Gemfields Retail Jeweller India Awards

What: DVF Peggy Foldover clutch

Tisca wore a simple, elegant dress with beautiful side ruching and draped neck for a jewelry awards ceremony. The dress fits her perfectly, giving her an hourglass figure. The length is a little long for me (maybe she forgot to wax her legs??)...I am totally drooling over her DVF bag and the clutch's color contrast with the cream dress... Lets just ignore her gold cutout shoes..

You can buy the clutch, here.

Who: Queenie Dhody
Where: Gemfields Retail Jeweller India Awards

This could have been a cool look if she had skipped the boyfriend blazer and the belt. You dont have to wear all the trends at the same time, Queenie..

Another day, Another hit look

Who: Sonam Kapoor
Where: Promoting IHLS at Delhi

Sonam wore a Audrey Hepburn inspired Club Monaco dress which she "quirked" (her words) with Alexander McQueen yellow skull flats..And she had yet another hairstyle - do love the dainty hairband and the bow necklace is a nice touch. Now that she has done her hair straight, in loose knot, messy side braid, updo with hairband and has channeled Audrey Hepburn, what do you think she will do next?? I think it will be wavy/curly hair and Lady Gaga's clothes:-)

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly at Nawaz Modi Singhania's art exhibition

Who: Raageshwari

Raageshwari wore a chic dress with a sheer net overlay and she played it safe by sticking to same color accessories. Better safe than sorry:-)

Who: Sophie Choudry, Vidya Maldave, Pooja Batra

Three cute dresses completely spoiled by choice of accessories. Sophie wore a Alexander McQueen dress which she accessorized pretty well with her clutch. She then completely killed the look with those ugly shoes and bling bling necklace. On the other hand, I love Vidya's necklace but whatever look she was going for, she missed due to her tacky shoes and handbag..The less said about Pooja's (she is still around??) shoes, the better..Someone send them to fashionista rehab!!

Who: Sabina Singh

Fashion victim, someone please arrest her!! Seriously dude, lime green and neon pink?? and arrrgh, those shoes!!!

Genelia in Manish Malhotra

Who: (L) Genelia D'souza, (R) Aishwarya Rai
Where: (L) CNBC Awaaz Consumer Awards, (R) Retta Suzhi music launch

Genelia wore a white/pink Manish Malhotra saree which is pretty similar to what Aishwarya wore for Retta Suzhi audio launch. Ash was also wearing a Manish Malhotra. Genelia saree has an silver embellished border that was not there in Ash saree..Everybody including designers are into recycling..Good for the planet, good for u:-)

I have always found Genelia very vivacious and she looks cute in her sleek pony. But whats really hot is her blouse/top design!! I am on the fence regarding the saree but with the sexy blouse and minimum accessories, I think she carries it off well..What do u think? Is this blouse going to start a new trend?

Event : IHLS Dubai promotions

Who: Sonam Kapoor

Sonam wore a Black Chloe dress and a Grey Vivienne Westwood while promoting I Hate Luv Storys in Dubai. I love her perfectly, imperfect hair in both the appearances - the loose bun is really chic. A lot of people have commented on her makeup and yes, it does appear chalky/a shade lighter than her skin tone... Great dresses, a pity we cant see her shoes..

Who: Prachi Desai
Where:Promotion of 'Once upon a time in Mumbai' , International Cricket game launch

Prachi wore every similar dresses to different events and even posed in the same way on the red carpet. I liked her white dress but this Grey one is drab and the shoes are really yuck..She needs to stay away from "Buy one, Get one free" deals..

Give the girl a choice ...

I've been slammed recently for my whine post (back a couple of months ago) whereby I lamented about having to choose the menu for every day of the week, lest we get stuck with chicken.

I must add a post-script note that the beef (no pun intended) I have against chicken, is that often what you get here is barely chewable ... and not the quality of poultry that I would choose to feed my children.

Enter Jenny.  She does all of the work at planning a week's worth of menus and we're going to follow her menu plan faithfully this summer (based on items we can get readily available here, that is).

Not only is Jenny a brilliant photographer and web designer (stay tuned ... she'll be soon redesigning Delhi Bound!), but she's the kind of mother I would like to spend time with.  She's a cool cat AND from Nebraska ... can't beat that!

Recently, we took a cue from her recent menu plan and had Shanti make all of the fixins' for loaded baked potatoes.  The beauty of something like this for dinner (yep - it was all we had for dinner!) was that everyone got to CHOOSE.

Mia was happy with her potatoes, cheese and cream of asparagus soup on top.  Tony was beyond tickled with his salsa and bacon bits galore.  Terran kept his simple as well, and I went hog wild and put EVERYTHING on mine!!

My point is ... I think our family will be better off with menu options that gives us the right to choose.  Through the summer we're going to work on that ...

I see Muffin Tin Lunches in our future!!

Sonam and Bipasha on Indian Idol

Who: (L) Sonam Kapoor, (R) Bipasha Basu

Sonam and Bipasha appeared on Indian Idol episodes (Bollywood version of American Idol) to promote their forthcoming movies, I hate Luv Storys and Lamha, respectively.

Sonam wore a Manish Malhotra saree and this is her first time in a saree outside a movie. Her top/blouse with dull gold concentric embellishment is to die for. The top ( longer length) on its own would look fab with dressy pants:-) The saree is also gorgeous and the scalloped edges make a major style statement..Since there is so much going on in the saree, I would have preferred a simple spaghetti top and saved this one for a different saree..

Bipasha wore a white/gold anarkali during her appearance. She totally rocks the outfit and looks very summery cool and chic. The shoes are iffy and I prefer peep-toes with anarkalis..Both wore big traditional earrings..

Saved the best for the last

Who: Imran Khan

Imran, the 'hero' of IHLS:-), accompanied Sonam on Indian Idol promotion..Dayum, he is smoking HAWT. We swoon!!!

Shop the summer trend - Dress shorts

I am really amazed at how the fashion media/marketing have taken something so common and staple as shorts and made it the hottest item this Summer. I mean we all own at least one pair of shorts, right. But noooo, its only now that it is fashionable to wear them..All those past Summers, boy, were we so uncool:-)

I have picked some dress short and combined them with different tops for outfits that you could wear to a dinner date. Happy Shopping!!

Sonam is putting us to sleep in this simple but tad boring grey dress. Not very found of her shoe choice either..Have you noticed that Sonam is always smiling? I dislike people who are this happy. Something must be wrong with her:p

Bored?

Some of the fun things we're doing to stave off the "Mama, I'm bored" routine.

Teaching the littles how to do water bombs ::

Making silly faces ::

Concentrating very hard on lots of art projects ::

Making lists of what we should do every day ::

("borrow the babies" is something the littles want to do SO badly ... there is a darling set of twins here that they just adore ... and they are determined to "borrow" them for a day!)

Tony is practicing writing with appropriate spacing (by using a finger in between every word)

Trash the room is something he got from our recent trip ... it involves lots of toilet paper and lots of mess.  It also involves two littles who then subsequently do not want to have ANYTHING to do with CLEANING the room!

Bowling (with lots of gutter balls and dancing along the way) ::

More art projects  (we are LOVING watercolors right now!) ::

Making rice cake creations with Nutella, Jif, honey, sugar and cinnamon ::

and practicing "homework" at the pool ::

We're halfway through our summer off from school ... and it's been a good one so far!  What are you doing to fight off the summer time "I'm bored" calls?

Events: Rajneeti Success party

Who: Raageshwari

Va-va-voom, Raageshwari is all old school glamor in this high waisted pencil skirt that accentuates her waist. She pairs it with a stunning red button-down shirt and cute high heels. I am so happy that she didn't go for white shoes! A simple but very classy, feminine look..

Who: Mehr Jessia Rampal

Mehr wore a cute white top that is sexy and alluring yet prim and proper at the same time. It does look a size too big but she looks good wearing it with black skinnies. Talk about making a grand entrance AND exit !!

Who: Shazahn Padamsee

I am not feeling any love for this uninspired animal print dress and equally boring hair. The shoes are pretty fierce but somehow are not going with the outfit. I would have preferred deep red peep-toes or red clutch - some color to put life into this animal:-)

Who:(L) Tareena Patel, (R) Guest

Red-orange is a tough combination to pull off and even though Tareena's outfit looks like she slept in it, I do have to say she got the color shades right.
Totally digging the Halston-like dress on the guest. No to the golden bridal clutch and shoes...
