SINGAPORE - of chocolate, beef and prescriptions

Day Two found us at Universal Studios.

Can you believe there is a WHOLE Hershey’s store? You could SMELL the Reeses when you walked in.

For this family, that’s like striking gold!  The concept of “you don’t know what you’re missing until it’s gone” definitely holds true for Reeses.

They are available every-so-randomly-often and there is a weird phenomenon with chocolate in Delhi. It has melted and been re-chilled, melted and re-chilled so often that it takes on a funky taste and a funky look … so to purchase Reeses that TASTE like Reeses was the highlight of our day.

Universal Studios – Singapore is not the same experience as the location in Orlando, but it sure wasn’t bad.

We 'met' Kung Fun Panda, rode the Madagascar Carousel (so darling!), watched a cool WaterWorld action-packed show and went on a fun Jurassic Themed raft ride.  Universal Studios Singapore is still in its "soft opening" stage, so several of the main attractions weren't open, much to Terran's chagrin, but overall, the kids all enjoyed the day and we finished off the day at Hard Rock with ribs and burgers at Hard Rock.  ANGUS, people!

We rounded off our evening with an evening swim and some Italian for dinner.

The morning of Day Three found us at the doctor's office.  EVERYONE was sick during our trip and the pharmacies in Singapore didn't quite have the same ease of access as we’ve been accustomed in Delhi.

It was very hard to believe that I couldn’t get Zyrtec, Claritin or even a simple antihistamine (name brand would definitely do!) over the counter.  The best I could score at the pharmacy was some strange orange meltable throat lozenges and some Panadol (fever reducer).

We went to a walk-in clinic suggested by a friend and it was quick and painless.  All of the kids saw the doctor in under 30 minutes, and another 30 minutes later and we had a rented nebulizer, a bag full of medicines and an invoice for S$566 (ouch)!! The exchange rate is about S$1.30 to every $1 USD.

To come .... "facing your fears at the Jurong Bird Park" ... "Going Topless on the Hippo" and more!  Stay tuned ...
